Leah Stockton, of AH Monroe, joined Good Morning Keys on KeysTalk 96.9/102.5FM this morning to talk about the needs of the area.
AH Monroe has been serving the Florida Keys for almost 40 years.
Stockton said, “2026 will be our 40th anniversary, and our tagline is health and housing. It’s what we do. So we provide affordable housing and accessible health care to residents that need it most here in the Florida Keys.”
The Lofts will have a ribbon cutting.
Stockton said, “I’m actually here at the Lofts at Bahama Village this morning, and it is a beautiful property that really fits into the Bahama Village community. The way it was built was very intentional, so that it fits in with the rest of the vibe here in Bahama Village. We’re really excited that we moved 83 units in during September. So that 83 out of 98 moved in in one month, was quite the feat. But we’re really excited to have people living here and bustling around the property as I’m here this morning, and then on the 30th, we’re going to have our ribbon cutting, our grand opening. We’re just really excited. This property has been years and years in the making, and so we’re just really glad that that day is finally here. We have 98 total. Units will turn over. People move, they have things come up. So if you’re still interested in living here at the Lofts, please let us know, and we can get you on the wait list the next time a unit comes available. There are home ownership units. Those are in partnership with the City of Key West. That’s a separate building here on the property.”
The Goombay Festival starts today.
Stockton said, “We’ll be down at Goombay today and tomorrow with the health department, and we are excited to provide some HIV prevention and talk to the community about the services that we do. So stop by and see us at our booth, our captain love, which is our HIV prevention mascot, so to speak, will be there, and we have all sorts of outreach materials. I was already out there this morning to set up our booth, and it is already hopping out on Petronia street this morning.”
AH Monroe will also participate in Fantasy Fest.
Stockton said, “Our float’s theme is ‘a bed for everyone, our dream for the future.’ So we are doing a whole bedtime theme for our float, and we are excited to be part of Fantasy Fest once again. AH Monroe obviously has a long history with Fantasy Fest, and we are glad to continue to be part of that celebration and be participating in the parade.”
Volunteers and donors are always welcome.
Stockton said, “You can reach out to me or go on the website, either one, and we would be glad to connect you. Lots of opportunities to get further engaged there.”
