Allison Thibault with the Key West Sunrise Rotary Club joined Good Morning Keys on KeysTalk 96.9/102.5FM this morning to talk about Brew Fest.
Brew Fest will be from August 29 through September 2 where more than 150 beers will be available. It’ll be held at the Southernmost Beach Resort.
Thibault said, “It’s going to be a very fun, exciting weekend and event on Saturday. We have a full schedule of events from our amazing sponsors that put together all these really great, fun things to do throughout the entire weekend.”
A tasting event will be held at the Southernmost Beach Resort on Saturday.
Thibault said, “It’s from 3 to 8pm and the VIP tickets are from 3 to 5pm, which includes your VIP shirt and your beer mug and all different kinds of swag that the vendors will be handing out for the individuals who are coming. Then from 5 to 8 is general admission, but during that entire time we’re going to have live music from our popular local artists. So we have a ton of fun waiting for everybody.”
The event benefits the Key West Sunrise Rotary Club, which will benefit local scholarships.
Thibault said, “What’s so great, our meetings are Friday mornings at 7am and these students come back and tell us about their wonderful experiences and how these scholarships help to further their education and shape their future.”
Will tickets be available up to the day of the events?
Thibault said, “Yes. You can purchase the tickets directly from the website, which will link you to Eventbrite. They’re going really very fast, especially the VIP tickets. We’re capped at a certain number. So just make sure that if you want your VIP tickets, get them ASAP. However, we will be selling tickets the day of the event. So if you head over to Southernmost Resort on the beach, we will have tents set up, and you can also purchase your tickets there, right on the spot.”
The sponsors are amazing to step up to help.
Thibault said, “We have a lot of local breweries coming into town. Well, they are already in town. But even further out. We’re really fortunate to have such a wonderful community to help support our fundraiser to make this successful.”
There will be beers from around the world that will be featured.
Thibault said, “We have so many beers for everybody to try. Also, if you don’t drink beer and just want to come support the foundation and listen to live music and just be with your friends. We’re also going to have hydration stations. So there’s a local shop here in town called Lemon and Lily, and they make really, really great homemade lemonades. So they will be there. We also have other types of hydration stations too, like Revitalite and these types of specialty water drinks.”
Beer paring dinners will also be included.
Thibault said, “I’m very, very excited. I mean this was really fun to put together, and I look forward to meeting everyone. We do have a couple of events on the schedule, which I highly recommend you register ahead of time if you are interested. So for example, the Sunday Funday sandbar trip with beach weekends, which is on Sunday, 11am to 3pm, call them book ahead of time. It’s $30. They’ll provide beer and the captain, they’ll take you out to sandbar, and have you’ll have a great time with them. Sloppy Joes on Friday and Sunday, those events, they’re actually supporting our foundation, so all proceeds will be going to our fundraiser as well, which is a very, very nice of Sloppy Joes. On Friday night, the Brews and Bites bash at First Flight, call them or even go on their website, buy your tickets, because that’s going really, really fast. They have a great menu set up.”
