Do not miss the Faith, Family and Freedom forum with Keys Patriots Alliance and Turning Point USA

Alexandra Conn, founder of Keys Patriots Alliance and a member of Turning Point USA, joined Good Morning Keys on Keys Talk 96.9/102.5FM this morning to talk about the two organizations.

How did Keys Patriots Alliance come about?

Conn said, “Since September and founding, the Turning Point of South Florida and Key West, we saw a need for a similar group that would be supporting more political endeavors. We realized that there was a huge need for conservative community in Key West and following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we did start the Club America at the high school, and the Turning Point for Key West, but that really is a Christian based initiative, and we felt we needed a politically backed initiative. So that’s where the Keys Patriots Alliance comes in. Our goal with the Keys Patriots Alliance is just to forge a community for conservatives, and that’s really a broad sweep. We don’t care who you are, as long as you value conservative family values, this is the club for you. So we’re kind of partnering Keys Patriots Alliance with Turning Point to kind of cover all the bases between faith, family and freedom.”

In fact, the Faith, Family and Freedom forum will be coming up on February 17.

Conn said, “We’re honoring Charlie Kirk. This is our first real event since we founded these clubs. We’ve had three Turning Point events, but they were more meetings to get to know each other and get our bearings. This event is taking place at the San Carlos Institute, so we’re really excited. It’s kind of our first big hurray. We have a ton of guest speakers coming that we’re really excited about from both Turning Point and the Patriot grassroots.”

Guest speakers include Matthew Manfore, Jorge Galicia, Monica Page from Turning Point and Elijah Day and Madisyn Pettit from Patriots Grassroots.

Conn said, “The guest speakers, particularly that we have coming from Turning Point are really, really powerful speakers. Monica Page, in particular, is the White House correspondent for Turning Point USA. So she spends a lot of time at the White House with the president. She’s very plugged in. So we are really looking forward, and we feel so blessed and lucky to have her coming to Key West to speak with us. So we’re really looking forward to meeting Monica Page, she’s awesome. And then Jorge Galicia, I met him at the Keys GOP dinner back in November, and he has got a really interesting story. He also works for Turning Point USA, but he’s a Venezuelan asylum seeker, so he travels around and tells his story about how the damages of letting the state grow too big, and what can happen to a flourishing country when that happens, when a repressive regime cripples the economy. So he has a really, really interesting story that he’ll be sharing with us at this event. I just love to hear him speak. It’s really moving. He’s got a really great perspective as a Venezuelan asylum seeker who’s made a life in the United States. And then Matthew Manfore, he’s amazing too. He’s a Christian missionary. He’s a reporter, a filmmaker. So we’ve got a really solid lineup coming from Turning Point.”

The event begins at five o’clock and admission is free.

Conn said, “We just ask that people RSVP on our Facebook page, on our Instagram page, there are flyers with an email that you can RSVP to, or you can RSVP on the Facebook event.”

What is the mission of Turning Point?

Conn said, “As a lot of people know that associate Charlie Kirk with informing the youth and really giving them the tools to make informed decisions. So Charlie Kirk didn’t care what you believed in. He just wanted you to come and have an open dialog. He wanted you to come learn, talk, explore. So we’re really trying to uphold the true spirit of Charlie Kirk by having discussions and making information readily available. The Patriots grassroots group that’s going to be there is kind of along along the lines of Charlie’s mission, Elijah Day is the founder, and Madisyn Pettit is the director. And they are basically an organization that helps communities build voters. So in communities where people just aren’t getting out to vote, they have a canvassing mission that has a lot to do with going door to door, opening up conversations and making connections with people who are otherwise unengaged. So they’re a little more politically focused where Charlie Kirk was a little more focused on the youth, but it’s kind of the same idea where we want to get the conversation going. We want to get the message out, and we want to educate people and let them know their rights so that they can defend them. That’s kind of our biggest goal.”

What is the future for Keys Patriots Alliance?

Conn said, “Our biggest initiative right now is to form coalitions to improve our city. So one of the big coalitions that we’re working on is the Environmental Coalition, water quality, things like that. Our board members also have taken an active role in the Southern Most Republicans club. So our president, secretary and treasurer for Keys Patriots Alliance are the same for the Southern Most Republicans club. So we’re able to really dig in and try and make a difference with local problems, because we’re involved with both groups. So we’re really focusing on the environment. We’re also focusing on the school board. We really want to have parents get involved with the school board and we’re a local watchdog. We want to make sure everything’s on the up and up. And we just want to take stock of what’s going on and make sure things are happening on the up and up the way that they should. So the school system, the environment, health and wellness is another big one, another big coalition we’re heading up, as well as DOGE. We’re in the works of forming up our own DOGE initiative in Key West to make sure that our tax dollars are going to appropriate things. So that’s kind of what we’re focused on for the year coming up, is building those coalitions and gathering people who are who are excited about those topics to get involved and donate their time and become volunteers, whether it’s for the environment or the spending or the school board. Find us on Facebook or Instagram. We’re keeping it simple for now. We’ve got a website coming down the pipe, but for now, everything’s on Facebook and social media.”
