Do NOT miss the Festival of Trees in Marathon!

Charlotte Quinn, vice president with the Zonta Club of Marathon, joined Good Morning Keys on Keys Talk 96.9/102.5FM this morning to talk about the festival of trees.

The festival of trees is a fundraiser for the Zonta Club which has been going on for 15 years.

Quinn said, “We raise money to help women and children in our community when they have a need.”

The festival of trees began last night and will run through Saturday night.

Quinn said, “It’s open from three to five, from today to Friday, and then on Saturday, we’re open from nine until 8:30 when we draw for the winners of the trees.”

What is the festival of trees all about?

Quinn said, “We have about 30 trees, and there’s 14 baskets, I believe, and they are all donated from businesses and people here in Marathon, and you have a chance to win one when you buy a ticket. You can put it in any buckets you want, and then we have a drawing at the end. As I said, all of the proceeds from this goes to helping women and children in our area.”

How can people find out more about the Zonta Club?

Quinn said, “We have brochures all over town, but they could also call any Zontian that they want. They could call me if they like, and I’d be happy to help them. My number is 305-393-9501.”
