Fantasy Fest is SO MUCH fun for everyone!

Nadene Grossman Orr, director of Fantasy Fest, joined Good Morning Keys on KeysTalk 96.9/102.5FM this morning to talk about the big festival.

Fantasy Fest always brings a whole lot of people to town and the attendance is booming.

Grossman Orr said, “The weather is perfect and the storms avoided us, so people are making their way down. I think we do have a lot of people at the last minute deciding to come down. If that’s the case, we hope they enjoy the beautiful drive down the Keys. They can do our pit stop promotion as they make their way here, they could win a chance to be in our parade suite tomorrow night. Of course, they can check out our website, the where to stay page, and still find some available rooms this weekend with our hotel partners.”

Fantasy Fest Market is going on today.

Grossman Orr said, “We’re excited to partner with Conch Republic. They’re a great partner of ours for many years. There’s going to be local vendors and artisans and crafts, great food and beverage, of course. And we’ll be there selling our Fantasy Fest T shirts and merchandise. You can get a clack fan and get geared up for the day. There’ll be a lot of costume pieces and things available. It’s going to be a blast.”

Registration for the parade viewing party is still up.

Grossman Orr said, “There are several places, several great places, to view the parade, and the best way to find out all of those options is to get the fantasy fest app. So you can go to our website and go to our social media pages. Download that festival app. It’s free, and you can see all of the great parties that are happening over the next three days. When we all make it to Sunday, we’ve got Children’s Day, we’ve got some pool parties and some recovery options.”

The Captain Morgan’s Masquerade March tonight starts at 5:30 and the Bud Light Fantasy Fest parade starts tomorrow.

Grossman Orr said, “We step off at 7pm from the Truman waterfront, and it makes its way around Duvall Street. So get yourself a great spot. Check out one of those great viewing parties, and get yourself tickets and a seat, or just come on down and stand on the sidelines. It is going to be the biggest show of the week. That’s for sure. Our grand marshal has put in an amazing effort in his float and he and Robert the Doll are going to blow some minds on Saturday night. It’s going to be great.”

It’s possible maybe 70,000 people could be in attendance at the parade Saturday night.

Grossman Orr said, “We hope so. What a great boost for the economy here. We’ve had a pretty slow summer and a really slow September, and I’m always so appreciative, and I understand how much this means to the hospitality industry, and especially those on the front line. Tip your bartenders and your servers and your housekeepers. They’re all working so hard this week to make sure everyone has a great time in Key West for Fantasy Fest.”
